Meet ICNZB Certified Bookkeeper™, Kim Hamill.
Kim has been a member since April 2012 and is based in Canterbury.
Kim Hamill is the owner of Nimba Limited which has operated since 2009. Kim is known for "liking things to be just right". She has always loved technology and the things it can do to make our lives easier. Not a fan of shuffling paper, if there is a way to streamline a process then she will use it.
Kim joined ICNZB in 2012 as a Certified Bookkeeper and is a highly engaged, well known (and well liked) member in our Canterbury region.
We recently asked Kim some questions about her bookkeeping journey; the best advice she has ever received and a few "icebreaker" questions. Here is what she had to say:
Why did you become a bookkeeper?
To get businesses up to speed with technology and help them understand their business’s financial health.”
What do you enjoy most about bookkeeping?
Helping clients understand their technology and teaching them to use it fully, making sure that they can make business decisions on data they can trust.”
What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
My first employer taught me the importance of sticking to my values, how to be highly professional and to always be ethical and empathetic when dealing with clients."
You have to sing karaoke, what song do you pick and why?
Under pressure. It appeals to my sense of helping the underdog.”
If you could only eat one dessert for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Baked New York cheesecake!”
If you had to delete all but 3 apps from your smartphone, which ones would you keep?
Messenger (it’s how I keep in touch with my family), my Google Authenticator, Stocard (the app that keeps my loyalty cards)"
If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
Christchurch"
What is your favourite place of all the places you have travelled?
Twizel"
